Getting Started

Starting Your Habit Journey

Simply visit tracker.html and add your first habit. No account needed to get started — just click "Add Habit," enter your habit name, and start checking off daily. For more guidance, visit our Getting Started guide.
We recommend starting with just 1–3 habits. Research consistently shows that starting small is the key to long-term success. Once your initial habits feel automatic, you can gradually add more.
Yes! Dail's free plan includes up to 3 habits and basic weekly tracking. Our Pro plan ($5/month) adds unlimited habits, full history, analytics, and reminders. See our pricing page for full details.
You can use the basic tracker without an account. Creating a free account allows you to save your habits, access history, and sync across devices. Sign up is quick, with no credit card required.
You can track any daily habit — from fitness, nutrition, and sleep to reading, meditation, creativity, and social connection. Dail works for both "do more" habits and "do less" habits (reducing screen time, cutting sugar, etc.).
Using the Tracker

Using the Tracker

Click the "Reset Week" button on the Tracker page. This clears all check-ins for the current week. Your total history (on Pro) is preserved. The free tracker resets when you refresh the page.
The web tracker requires internet access to load, but once loaded it works offline. Pro users can install the Dail Progressive Web App (PWA) for true offline access with automatic sync when you reconnect.
Yes — on the weekly tracker you can check any day in the current week. Pro users can edit past entries across their full history. We recommend checking in daily rather than doing catch-up sessions for the most accurate data.
Your streak counts the number of consecutive days you've completed a habit. Missing one day breaks the streak. We show both your current streak and your longest-ever streak to keep you motivated.
Yes — click the × button next to any habit name in the tracker to remove it. On Pro, deleted habits can be archived rather than deleted, preserving your history.
Habit Science

The Science Behind Habits

Research from UCL (Lally et al., 2010) found that habits take between 18 and 254 days to become automatic, with an average of 66 days. Simple habits automate faster; complex ones take longer. The "21 days" claim is a myth.
Tracking creates accountability, provides immediate reward (the check-in itself), and generates data that helps you understand what's working. Research shows people who monitor their behaviour are significantly more likely to achieve their goals.
The habit loop (cue → routine → reward) is the neurological pattern that underlies every habit. Cues trigger the behaviour, the routine is the behaviour itself, and the reward reinforces it. Understanding your cues and rewards is key to designing lasting habits.
No. Research shows missing one day does not significantly affect long-term habit formation. What matters is the overall pattern. Apply the "never miss twice" rule: return immediately after any missed day.
Yes. Complexity and effort level significantly affect how long a habit takes to automate. Drinking a glass of water automates much faster than going to the gym. Start with simple habits to build early momentum.

Dail works as a Progressive Web App (PWA) — you can install it on your phone's home screen directly from the browser for an app-like experience. Native iOS and Android apps are on our roadmap for 2026.
You can request account deletion at any time by emailing hello@advertisingpromotionnetwork.com. All your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days. We're sad to see you go, but we respect your right to be forgotten.
